Oude Wellington Estate, Wellington

Oude Wellington Wine and Brandy Estate is situated in the middle of the Cape Winelands. Table Mountain, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and the 2 oceans are approximately an hour's drive away. They produce potstill Brandy and wine. Guests are welcome to sample and/or buy.

Accommodation comprises in a Cape Dutch Estate of 1790 with the traditional white walls and gables, as well as a rustic restaurant in a working distillery and rooms combining the old charm with comfort. Most of the comfortable rooms have air-conditioning, under-floor heating, DVD, TV, a wine fridge, free Wi-Fi, a safe and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Each and every room has its own private entrance.

They also have 4 self-catering rooms for 1 to 6 guests, some with fireplace or braai. The well-equipped kitchenettes have cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, oven and-or stove, microwave and small fridges.

Guests with disabilities can be accommodated in an especially customized and comfortable room at ground level.

The charming country restaurant combines culinary inspirations with classic European and Dutch/Indonesian cuisine. Guests can enjoy daily changing specials, venison, soups and desserts. Be seated under shady Oak trees or inside the distilling cellar with cosy fireplaces, not only in winter.

On-site is a spa offering excellent massages, reflexology and hot stone treatments. The swimming pool has a child-safe cover but please note that the dams are not fenced in.

For entertainment, there is Petanque, Billiard, a swimming pool, open-air table tennis and a big outdoor chess set. A qualified teacher offers horseback riding lessons and outrides for children and adults. There are two friendly dogs, cats, geese, ostrich and alpacas. The alpacas are friendly animals and will come when called but please be respectful as they are not pets.
