Ochre House

Ochre House is a self-catering holiday house situated in Marloth Park. The holiday house is ideally suited for a couple and boasts a living area facing south and overlooking a wooded glade, crossed by a game trail that’s used by antelopes, zebras and giraffes.

Ochre House has 1 bedroom furnished with a king-size bed, and a light-filled en-suite bathroom that has a large walk-in shower, with its own bush views. The well-equipped, open-plan kitchen contains a fridge, a microwave, an oven with a stove, and other appliances. The adjacent dining area has a timber dining table and a comfortable, intimate lounge area. The house is fully air-conditioned.

The living area features a large 4.5-metre glass wall leading out to the patio area, and a spectacular 3.5-metre window that has a daybed with a bushland outlook. The covered, all-weather patio is elevated, with spectacular viewing opportunities of the passing animals and birdlife.

The patio also has a 4.5-metre plunge pool, a custom-made stainless steel Hibachi braai grill, and a spacious outdoor seating area. The patio catches the morning sun, where guests can enjoy their sunrise coffee or breakfast, but by midday it’s all bathed in cool, welcome shade.

Marloth Park is a unique wildlife conservancy, which borders the Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River.

Construction of Ochre House is concrete, the roof is steel and the ceiling space is heavily insulated to provide cool comfort in the hot African summers, while retaining overnight warmth in the brief and mild winters.
