Wake to stunning mountain views from bed at Gentle Presence Cottages!

The main Cottage is fully equipped for 6 persons on self-catering basis and has been lovingly decorated using a mixture of antiques and modern furnishings to make guests feel cozy and right at home while retaining a yesteryear charm.

The 2nd Cottage was the original outer buildings and has been completed revamped to a modern, comfortable self-catering unit for 2 persons. It has it's own entrance and it set at the bottom of the large garden to ensure both Cottages have ample privacy.

Originally built in the 1900’s as stables, Gentle Presence is one of the oldest buildings in Clarens. It is thought that farmers would arrive by ox-wagon and meet here before sharing Nagmaal (Holy Communion).

Unusual stairs - Not suitable for children under 8 or those who battle with stairs, including pets.

Entire Cottage is for you use and best suited to family or close friends.

There is a sleeper couch in living room for children/young adults - kindly note this is on ground floor with bedrooms and bathrooms being on 1st floor. There is a guest toilet with basin only on ground floor.

Parking is behind locked gates and motorcycles are welcome.

No events or loud noise after 10:30pm as residential suburb.

Strictly no smoking indoors. Smoking on balcony and outdoors only.

Guests are asked to respect our private home which is on the shared property.

Extra guests not declared will be asked to pay on arrival or access will be denied to guests.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
If cancelling 8 days before arrival, forfeit 20% of the deposit.
If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 0% of the deposit.
