Otters Bend Lodge, Franschhoek

We are a unique, boutique travellers’ "farmstay", situated on the banks of the Franschhoek River in the heart of the famous Cape Winelands. We are known for our relaxed farm atmosphere embraced by nature, with the sounds of birds, frogs and the trickling of the river going by.

Surrounded by magnificent mountains and famous wine farms, we are within walking distance of Franschhoek Village — the gourmet capital of South Africa. We provide the perfect base from which to explore - whether it is hiking, biking, horse riding, or savouring and indulging in what the wine estates, restaurants and shops have to offer.

The adjoining twin and double en-suite log cabin style rooms lead out onto a deck situated amongst trees, nestled on the banks of the Franschhoek River. Two separate self-contained family cabins are also available.
There is a communal self-catering lounge/dining/kitchen area with large open fire, wood burning stove, fully equipped kitchen and outdoor braai areas. A dip pool overlooking the river offers the perfect spot to cool off in summer.

Conference Venues: Small casual workshops/thinktanks up to 20 people. Yoga retreats, team building events, outdoor activities.

Family friendly: Set next to the river, with organic vegetable garden, orchard and many walks. Family rooms and camping available. Bikes for hire. Walking distance to the village.

Romantic: Private cabins available set apart in amongst the trees near the river bank. Comfortable double beds, own braai spot (subject to wind conditions). Walking distance to Franschhoek's famous restaurants. Late check outs by arrangement.
