Nestled in the heart of the Maluti Mountains, Castle in Clarens offers a royal experience for up to 4 people, with beautiful views of Mount Horeb. Castle in Clarens is situated on a farm on the outskirts of the of Clarens, and at night, the lights of Clarens look like fallen stars.
Based on the Rapunzel fairy tale, accommodation comprises of the castle named Rapunzel's Tower. The art and décor were handpicked with care from all over the world, and contribute to an unbelievable experience that tantalises the senses.
Rapunzel's Tower comprises of 2 en-suite bedrooms; Rapunzel’s Room and Prince’s Room. Located on the top floor, Rapunzel’s Room contains a queen-size bed, and overlooks the mountains and surrounds. Rapunzel’s Room has a bathroom that is fitted with a shower and heated towel rails.
Situated on the ground floor, the medieval-themed Prince’s Room contains a queen-size bed. Bath gowns, extra-large bath towels, face cloths, as well a hairdryer, are provided, and for added luxury, the bathrooms have heated towel rails and a bath.
Located on the ground floor, the Old World-style kitchen contains a stove and oven, a microwave, a fridge, as well as tea-and-coffee-making facilities. Guests can enjoy their meals at the 4-seater dining table.
Breakfast and dinner are available on request at an additional cost. To add to the theme, meals will be delivered in individual treasure chests. The lounge contains a small library, as well as a fireplace decorated with cherubs. Please note the castle does not have a TV.
Guests can prepare their braai in the Chamber of Angels, or watch the sunset behind the mountains from the Sunset Corner. Designed to fit with the Rapunzel fairy tale, the garden contains pathways, thorn trees, and a vegetable garden with rampion.
Activities in the area include fly-fishing, hiking, horse-back riding, abseiling, and more.
